ANTI_FASHION
Curated by Philip Fimmano
Sunday, September 29th, 2024
15:00–18:30 (Paris CEST)
9:00–12:00 New York (EST)
Written in 2014, Li Edelkoort's much-talked-about ANTI_FASHION Manifesto was the first to raise awareness about the shifts and upheavals experienced in the global garment system. Ten years on, the world has changed as much as the fashion industry itself; often welcoming a more restrained approach that combats fast consumption and spurs a powerful movement toward sustainability, creativity, diversity and uniqueness.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of ANTI_FASHION, World Hope Forum is pleased to present a special webinar, sharing stories of people and companies that lead by example — a slow fashion revolution that includes independent brands, folk favorites, outsider artists, artisan makers, textile farmers and style philosophers. Speakers will focus on the twelve themes of the original ANTI_FASHION Manifesto: education, materialization, manufacturing, designers, marketing, presentation, advertising, press and blogging, retailing, consumers, menswear and couture.
This free online September event is hosted in collaboration with New York Textile Month and forms part of our ongoing Talking Textiles educational programme.
